I hope this is a good game.

I think Nibris will pull a winner out of their hats. Sadness (though, not much is known about it) seems like it will be a truly innovative game that will symbolize what a Wii game should be like; of course, games like Metroid, Zelda and Mario would do that as well!

Problem is with games these days, despite different genre names they're basically the same. This is meant to be a classic horror, something new to the table, which is good enough for me.

Hopefully they're not punching above their weight. I feel this team may be too small and underfinanced to pull it off. Fingers crossed.

What about Happiness? They'd make more money that way.

lol @ Noah. It's a HORROR! Since when did horror games have uplifting titles that make you think of flowers and rolling fields!? If you get NOM in the UK, one of the mags has a small preview of it. Basically you can use the wiimote in a number of ways, like a lasso, an umbrella (to hide your face from the enemy) and you can creep up behind someone with the nunchuck and use the freehand to slash their throat! This game will be great.

The whole idea of a black and white horror game truly sounds awesome.

"Sadness" sounds like a happy game.

Emo would be a much scarier title, but it would mean the same thing.

I'm going to cry if I can't find information on this game.

What year does this game take place in?

The new horror game for the Wii. This game looks incredible.

Horror game? Don't know anything about it so not sure. I'd love it if a Castlevania game came out on the Wii, that would own. Just as long as they don't go back to the old Dracula's been ressurected oh noes scenario.

A black and white horror game sounds interesting but until screenshots and a trailer come I will say no to this game.

I saw a screenshot where a lady was holding a torch with the remote, it was weird. I saw it in "gamesTM" a british gaming magazine.

Avatar

Meta Knight said:

It's based in Victorian times pre-1914 (before world war one). Apparently there is no onscreen menu or prompts to tell you when the game has autosaved. Should be interesting.

I'm getting depressed just reading the title.

Owlboy said:

Yea Dracula is getting a bit boring. Hmmm a Castlevania with a clan of werewolves or even the devil himself. I don't care, I just want the wiimote used as the legendary whip! Sadness sounds great so far.

I know it's going to be just like viva pinata.

Not much of a name is it.

Yo darkvic I love the teen titans reference. That was the best comic book, TEEN TITANS GO.

Owlboy said:

Emo and goth are not the same thing! Goths actually listen to music with something worthwhile to say, whereas emo music is just whining.

Well NIBRIS seems very loyal to Nintendo. Hopefully this game will be great. The only way Wii will win this round is by having exclusives.

Avatar

Gonzo said:

Like ganondorfrules said, I not judging anything until more information comes out. And anyway, just because the game is called sadness, doesn't mean it's horror. The genres are historic, action, and adventure. I don't see any horror there.

Guys, this game will be the scariest, most disturbing game on the market. It's going to have an AO (adults only) rating. No joke.

Avatar

Captain Jamesman said:

Sadness? Maybe this will be a game with romance.

Avatar

trentonWii said:

I know, NIBRIS is awesome. They were on forums asking people about raid over the river (a ds game they're making). They actually wanted to know what gamers thought. They're also really nice. The only other A game I've ever seen is man hunt.

After 'Mario Galaxy', this has got to be the game I'm anticipating most. You know how Resident Evil 1 was designed to look like a modern zombie movie (you can't see around corners etc)? Sadness is designed to look an old-school black and white horror movie.

This game brings me tears.

This looks like it'll be a RE spinoff but still I want it. It seems cool to have a black and white game which no one has ever done (unless it's on a black and white TV).

DarkVic said:

The sadness is overwhelming. *Sniffle*.

Saint Ducky said:

How... sad?! I think it looks cool, but how are you supposed to play a game where you're a little girl running around with a torch, killing demon possessed rats? I'll probably get it.

Avatar

Fire Emblem Fan 14 said:

Sounds scary just playing a helpless girl where you probably can't defend yourself!

Another must have for the Wii! I heard the score for the game, man it's nice, especially if you got surround sound. This game is going to be one of the top sellers for Wii.

Luigi said:

Is this a scary game or just one of those sucky side games?

Avatar

InsertPageUp said:

Sadly Sadness is not coming until late 2008, or sometime in 2009. I heard that it has a big budget, however the team is quite small.

Avatar

Negative said:

Actually there's rumors going on that it will be released at the end of 2007.

Avatar

InsertPageUp said:

I find it weird that there is almost no important information about the game but it's going to be released in 3-4 months? If that rumor is true I'll give you a million dollars.

Avatar

Wiimaster said:

Plans are that nibris will release a game play trailer late 2007 and the game in 2008/2009.

Avatar

Minako said:

Good lord I saw official art for this game months ago, but I wasn't sure if they'd pull through and actually make it or not. I hope it does come out sometime in 08, not 09! I seriously can't wait to experience this, I won't even glance at reviews or anything once it's released.

Avatar

Nickhead said:

The game has pretty good controls.

Avatar

wiimaster said:

Man, nibris has stated the game won't be out until 2009. Argh the one good looking game is going to be a while.

Avatar

Master Foot said:

Sadness will probably go the way of Gran Turismo 4 for PSP. There is a threshold when it comes to teasing if you know what I mean.

Avatar

Senpai said:

HAH! Looks like a screen, maybe Nibris hasn't put it on the back burner.

Avatar

Wiipaw said:

Yes. First screen. And it's barely viewable. FAR OUT.

Avatar

Diddy Kong Lover said:

I hope this is as good as Fatal Frame IV will look to be, I haven't seen a good horror since Resident Evil 4. I hope this is published by Big N, simply because then they will lose the uncool stereotype.

Avatar

UgliestRose said:

Keeping my eye on this game, seems like it has some potential.

Avatar

Wiimaster said:

Why hasn't anyone put up the other two screenshots?

Avatar

Qb@ said:

Bad news. Game was canceled a few months ago! Sad but true. You can find only first version of soundtrack. Sounds scary. I mean good.

Avatar

Asylum Inmate said:

^ What really why? That is so freeeaking bad! Argh I so wanted this game to be made. Far out.
