Nintendo's original Game Boy handheld was released in Japan on April 21st 1989, that's twenty years ago today. The monumental machine took on and defeated its technical superiors like the Sega Game Gear and Atari Lynx with an attractive price point, lower battery requirements and most of all the fun games. The Game Boy sold 118.69 million units worldwide. Some of its most popular games were Tetris (often packed in), and Pokemon titles Red, Blue & Green.

Sweet, GBA was one of my favorite hand helds. I still play some of my favorite GBA games like LOZ Oracle of Ages and Seasons, Dragon Warrior Monsters, and LOZ Link's Awakening.

Good memories I have of that system, I always loved Donkey Kong Land, Super Mario Land 2, and even Mortal Kombat. Wii's World Game Boy was also smaller than its competitors.
