A secret message has been found in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.
According to a translation by Jammer, it says:
"Hello, this is Iwata from Nintendo. You may not know from an outsiders point of view, but being a director is really hard! When things are really busy and stressful we (us directors) may look tired and sick, then people may feel sorry for us. But in my case, it's the opposite, I get fatter and fatter, so then people don't think I'm stressed at all!".

How do people find out these things?
Metaknight said:
Ha.
jskrdude said:
That's completely random.
Gonzo said:
Why would he say that in a game? And why in Japanese? That's what I think it is.
DragonFoxCoon said:
How did this guy come across that? And is that even real? My logic says that it is, being as this guy filmed his TV (rather shakily) for this message. I still have my doubts, but my logic overrules them.
True Hitoare said:
I found it too, it wasn't that hard. That symbol combination is the same one used at the beginning of the game, so of course I tried it again to see what would happen.
Keranu said:
Actually the real translation mentions how Japan plans to bomb USA and rule the world.
Roulf said:
It is real, I just tested it on my copy of metroid prime 3. The translation seems real as well, at least with my limited Japanese, it sounds similar. Pretty neat.
Wiimaster said:
It's real and weird.
KOOL-AID said:
You got to be kidding me.
Scooby Jew said:
Yeah, I don't see a point in this either. And is this a foreshadowing message from Iwata? "I get fatter and fatter". Sounds like somebody may have quit his diet.
Mr Friend said:
The code for that is used earlier in the game for something else, so it isn't ENTIRELY random. Still the last time they had you type it it was written above where the letters are so there was no reason for anyone to write it down or remember it.
Shade521 said:
I just checked it, it's really in the game. You just got to put the same code that they show you to put in at the very beginning anytime after that. It's just a kind of nifty easter egg. On a side note, I am LOVING prime 3.

This thing is true, I tried it myself. It's weird but true.
Super King said:
It's real, I've done it. I imagine he says it in Japanese because that's his native language. It can't have been too hard to figure out, you can play around with stuff in your ship and the 4 symbol code that this is on is the same as the one that they tell you to switch your radio frequency to at the beginning of the game (I'm about 90% sure it's the same).
Nova said:
Think about this from the game creators view. Wouldn't it just be fun to hide things just for the heck of it?
eric ♥ wii said:
This could either be just like what Nova said (above comment), or maybe it is a clue for something, like maybe read it backwards or sumthing. I think maybe it means something.
shadow said:
Actually there is a lore easter egg thing you scan in the game, talking about a supposed metroid game called Metroid Dread nearing completion.
Hexprak said:
I too have done this, though I discovered it all on my own. I thought that it was a nifty easter egg, but it bugged me that it was in Japanese. Thanks to this site, I now know what the hell he was saying.
Senpai said:
Yea, it's called EASTER EGGS! There is also one from shiggy. Note: the thing about fatness is a joke, when directors of games/movies get stressed and are under hard work, they lose weight, but he is saying he gets fatter, if you watch Japanese films, or have lived there (or still do), directors often talk about the stress causing weight loss, and also joke about it.
PhaazoidCream said:
Maybe it's a reference to the new Wii Fit game?
dimitri said:
I found that out the day I got the game, but I didn't know what the hell he was saying.
biirent said:
I found another combination for metroid prime 3, it's 3648 on that communicator thing in the ship. Try it, it rocks.
SON of A Wii1-4 said:
This is nuts but it's real. There are like 3 other secret messages.
Sarah And Josh said:
OH. After you do the 3648 thing, keep listening! He talks again. Someone should translate that one too.
wiiking9000 said:
Fool no, this is the real thing, it says: Hello, this is Iwata from Nintendo. A president has to take things really seriously, even if it doesn't seem like it. It's understandable if you lose weight from stress. But I get fatter instead. Nobody thinks I'm taking it seriously.
Samus Eater said:
I discovered this myself by typing in the same code from the beginning of the game. There are a lot more other codes as well. Just look online. I found a lot on youtube.
Kenny said:
We love our games. That's how we find these things out. I have the Trilogy disc for the Wii and beat all 3 within a 6 day period. And yes it's real. I love Easter Eggs.
