Boss Battles is a mode which opens up once you've finished the Subspace Emissary. In it you have to face off against a total of ten bosses.
There are five difficulty settings to choose from, and bosses come in random order (except for the last). Any damage you build up will be carried on into future fights, so use the hearts in the Rest Station wisely.

Hey mac, got any flies?
You weren't there man, we had to eat hearts to survive.
Never give up!

Damn, the final boss is so hard, even on very easy with 0% damage. I don't know how my brother managed. (FYI I know.. uh.. its name, but I don't want to spoil it).
Super King said:
Boss Battles on Intense is pretty tough. The keys are persistence, patience, and luck. I think me and my roommate will get it soon.

Duon looks like a mix between Dialga and Palkia (you know, Pokemon).
ToTaLgAmEr said:
lol at the second last caption, and Wii paw the final boss is so easy on easy mode, it's like impossible to lose.
YoshLee said:
I love the boss battles, I've already beaten it on hard. Hope I'll be able to beat it on very hard soon. I say the key is to air dodge, that word pops up in every boss guide on the dojo site.

Wow, interesting teenage mutant ninja turtles reference.
Aeth said:
Interesting quote on the Dojo website: "I wonder if a monster player who can clear the incredibly challenging Intense level without using any Heart Containers may exist somewhere in the world.". Got news for them, I've seen someone do it, and they didn't even take a single bit of damage. And the most surprising thing is: they did it with Mr Game & Watch.

Me and my boy are about to get it on intense. We always die on that 1 hit KO move from the final boss. I don't really think that's too much of a spoiler is it?
Epsilon said:
Yessir, the final boss is hard. By the way, anyone know how to escape his shockwave move? It kills me every time.
Wii Rox said:
Hey, haven't got the game yet (live in the UK) and I'm worried about the great maze, is it hard? Also can't wait to try this out.

What do you win if you beat boss battle mode?
et said:
Damn I beat all the bosses on very hard after many unsuccessful attempts. It took patience, skill, blood, sweat, tears and some hearts. I love your captions!
Super King said:
Me and my roommate cleared it on Intense last night! We are awesome.
Plaugefiend said:
You win respect Wii Freak. "AHA! The Chaos Gods speak clearly now".
Wii Rox said:
To avoid the shock wave, try using a side-step (I think).
WIIPING FOR WII said:
To dodge the circles of death just do the down dodge, hold R when he goes to the back, then tap down like half a second after the circle comes out, it takes practice but don't worry you'll get it.
YoshLee said:
Yes Wii rox it's best to side step. Most people think shielding and then moving left and right is the best way to dodge, but I find shielding and hitting down on the joystick (that's what side stepping is) much easier.
Nintendoof said:
I despise the last boss! But he's much easier in Boss Battles (unless you're playing Intense).
DragonFoxCoon said:
Hey, Aeth, is there a video of that unlikely feat? Being a natural skeptic, I think some sort of cheating device.
Aaron said:
I tried the sidestep, it doesn't work.
BestAtBrawl said:
I used the sidestep technique, it does work (I have done it several times), but it is tricky to pull off. I remember the first time I tried it. Avoided the first two blasts, but died on the third.
Dark Star said:
The rolling dodge is the only way I have managed to successfully dodge all three shock waves. Air dodges only dodge the first (and sometimes the second) wave. With three well timed rolling dodge. The one I have the most trouble on is the grapple whip of his.
YoshLee said:
It's flippin easy for me to pull off the side step and Aaron you may have done it incorrectly because it works for me.
Nintendolover said:
I can make it to the final boss on very hard with Ike, but I always die. I can get past the shockwave attack, so that isn't my problem.
smash bro man said:
Well yes the boss battle mode is very hard. I think when you beat the game with Fox on any mode you get the character Wolf, he is sweet and my favorite character.
kingofgame said:
Yes I just beat it on very hard! Now I'm going to try it on intense. I'm one step closer to completing the challenge wall, I have only 6 more to go.
