With the recent release of Nintendo DSi handheld, you might think it's too soon for any new hardware revisions. Not so! Introducing the DSi LL, which is like a DSi with larger screens of 4.2" and a larger touch pen.
The DSi LL will hit Japan on November 21st at a 20,000 Yen price tag in the red, white and black colors seen above.

I hope it comes to the US. I know a lot of people like handhelds to be small, but I personally would prefer the larger DSi over the smaller.

I've been thinking this for a while now. Prediction 1 ati/ibm system on chip tiny wii2-hd and a tegra based new DS both around 2010 to 2012. Prediction 2, the DSi XL kind of pushes this idea more than ever Nintendo HYBRID handheld/console a HD ds, Wii gaming NETBOOK type device with a mini Wii docking unit disc drive to activate Wii HD MODE based on nvidea's tegra, ion type system on chip. A super DS tegra based size of DSi xl cpu at say 800mhz. In docking Wii unit with mains power and hdmi out the cpu goes say 2ghz and docking unit has extra ram 2 systems developed into a cheap yet powerful hybrid that or prediction 1. Anyhow just an idea folks, one that DSi xl kind of makes even more possible.

That is far too heavy, far too expensive, and far too soon. Pass.

The dsi can make all the freakin changes it wants, it wouldn't be any better than the gameboy slot.

Come on really? This can't be real.

This is seriously like a smack to the face to those people who bought the first DSi's.

Very netbook--y hints at a hybrid handheld console netbook future by Nintendo.

Ugh. Nintendo. Why?

I also think it's preloaded with 3 Dsiware games.

Evidence of possible hybrid future for Nintendo it's leading in that direction.

I'll only buy this cause I ain't got a DS. Unless they give it some 'great' features, this will buy one for the bin.

Sony makes 12 inch to 50 inch tv's no one says a thing, Nintendo gives size choice to DSi there's an issue. ERM IT'S A CHOICE THING, it's not an upgrade. Nintendo did nothing wrong here, and my stepdaughter's partner is semi-blind with thick glasses, he has a right to play dsi too?
Wind Penguin Kid said:
I am angry and yet excited at the same time but I am not getting the DSI LL or at least not until more details about it come out.
SkullHydra said:
I'm actually for the "Upgrade". It's aimed at older consumers and meant as an alternative, not as a replacement to the existing DSi. I still haven't upgraded my DS Phat, and I'd like to get the DSi that's about the same size with almost twice the screen. p.s. It's actually Dark Brown, not Black.
Darunia said:
I just think it's stupid that it's coming so soon. I'd totally get it, but I got the dsi 6 months ago and I'm really annoyed that the thing is coming out so soon.

I've got a DSi, I don't feel like I had a smack in the face, I CHOOSE WHATEVER SIZE I LIKE. I didn't feel cheated when I purchased my 32 inch tv just because there was a 40 inch version AVAILABLE, it's not a new DS, it's DSi but bigger.
Son Ninja said:
Looks good and all but still just another DSi. Would have been better if Nintendo included a much better high quality camera for the new portable, other than that I have no interest for this newer model.
GQ said:
Now that I've seen this I'm glad I didn't get a dsi yet. I will wait for this one for sure. Like yoshlee I agree that I wouldn't mind a bigger handheld. My psp is really big, which I don't like for portability, but I like the screen way better than my ds. This will be my next handheld for sure.

Personally, I think Nintendo is just wasting precious money and time. Just look, it's been almost 6 years since ds's release. I think it's time they released ds's successor.

Sorry Nintendo. I need a better reason to give you all my money.

Talk about mixed feelings. I was excited to get my DSi back in April, yet miss the loss of the GBA slot. With this thing being so much bigger you would've thought Nintendo would've added GBA support to entice more buyers. With the only draws being MUCH larger screens, and extended battery life I'm just not buying it. Why not come out with something that offered a bit more? This new brick is even HEAVIER then before. I think Nintendo has taken a step back.

If game retailers don't give existing DSi owners a very, VERY good deal for our current DSi trade-in or whatever, PASS, to the highest power.
