Over in Japan people are getting their first look at a new channel for Wii, the TV Guide Channel.
Reports suggest that the user can sync their Wiimote to the TV for direct control. Choosing a show in the guide will jump to the corresponding TV station, and hitting the Home button brings back the guide.
A system of bookmarks using Miis is also available, these reminders can be shared among friends through Wi-Fi.
There's also a video available, but being in Japanese it's not easy to understand what's going on.
Currently it's not certain whether Nintendo will bring this feature outside of Japan.

That is so cool. That would be amazing if it came to America.

It's funny that PS3 is trying to put every entertainment format on their console, but they don't have this. "Yes, officer, my game console ate everything!".
Diddy Kong Lover said:
That is indeed odd Wiipaw. I hope it doesn't come to America, because Wii has too many channels.
Nova said:
What? There can never be too many channels. If someone doesn't want a channel, they don't have to download them.
wiinie said:
Are you kidding diddy? There's no such thing as too many channels.

How about a media player channel that plays avi, divx, wmv, MP4, mkv, H. 12345 (you know what I mean) and all those other media formats? (hint hint). I would gladly pay 2000+ Wii points for that.

I hope this is coming to Europe.

That's pretty awesome. Wouldn't doubt if Nintendo have to sign some contracts with certain cable providers?

This HAS to come to America! We watch so much more TV than Japan.

Nintendo owes us.

Kind of seems pointless. If anyone has digital/satellite service on their TV will already have a guide to what's on TV. I don't really see the use in it but I guess I might download if it's free because I certainly won't pay for it.

Wiininja, I'm with you. Nintendo does owe us for making us suffer the long, long wait for this awesome channel to come out in america, I hope it does soon.
