No I like Metal Slug but make it 3D.

Yer but 3d Metal Slug could completely wreck it, look at what happened to Sonic, and Mario was much better when he was 2d. I understand that because of the way the gaming world works they can no longer release 2d games but it is still true.

plok said:

Both Mario and Sonic are better in 3D to be honest. At least that's true in the good releases, maybe not all of them. Sure the 2D games are classics but things have progressed. Mario 64 was awesome when it came out and took Mario to the next level. Sonic Adventure 2 was really cool too, I don't know about his other 3d games.

Sonic lover, you are just like Nick of Nintendo Bunker. You are also right. Is this supposed to be about an iron snail or something?

Someone cooler than you said:

No offense, but the Sonic games seem to have gotten worse since they were 3d. Just because you make a game 3d dosn't make it better. Example: Pac-Man World 3. Anyways, this game looks pretty fun. I've never heard of it though.

The old games are better off sticking with 2D. Sonic 2D games were definitely the best of Sonic. However, Sonic Adventure was just great. Mario, well, didn't grow up with him. Couldn't say. On the subject of Metal Slug, I'll get this one because it's 2D yet it's on these new and great systems. Looks fun and I've heard good things about it.

It's basically all the previous Metal Slug games. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and x are all there.

This is great news. Hopefully it is a release title.

Hey Noah, there is a difference between iron and metal. Iron is just one of the periodic elements, while metal is a type of element.

SNAP! But aside from the educational burn that kahfk just served to Noah, I love Metal Slug, so hooray!

Turning 2d games 3d destroys them, like look what happend to Mario 64: worst Mario game ever. Long live world, best Mario game ever. It will be the same with Metal Slug.

Mario 64 is widely known as the best Mario game to date. Judging by the screenshots they don't have any plans to make Metal Slug 3D anyway.

quartzlcc said:

Good news - Wikipedia says that it's a launch title. *Ehem* EVERYBODY DANCE NOW! DUN! DUN, DUN, DUN *DUN*!

Well the game was first an arcade game, and each game is fairly short. The reason why it was hard on arcade is because once you die you had to pay blah blah. I would buy this ASAP if they added tons of levels or maybe a very long added game itself. Oh and lots of extras!

Mud said:

Mario64 sucked harder than a fricking vacuum cleaner and if they turned Metal Slug 3D it would just be another 1st person shooter.

Avatar

Lord Xenu said:

No, actually Mario 64 was a really good game and had many different things you could do that wouldn't have been possible with a side scroller. It is probably the best Mario game I've played to date. I personally don't see a problem with it, is it that there's no flag to jump on at the end of the stage or something?

I think I would puke if there was another metal slug game and I'm right by my toilet right now. I agree with sonic lover they should make it 3d.

Avatar

Hey said:

Sonic lover, you don't truly love Sonic if you hate 2D, because Sonic started out as 2D. (The only decent Sonic games were 2D anyway).

Avatar

M!! said:

Metal Slug in 3D could be decent if they made the gameplay like Battalion Wars when you controlled a single guy. You could roll and jump out of the way of bullets and whatnot, I found it very amusing and kept me wishing there could be multiplayer. Then I found out one is coming out for the Wii, I can't wait! It better have multiplayer. Anyways, a 3D metal slug that kept the craziness of guys everywhere and bullets flying everything couldn't be bad.

quartzlcc said:

Hey has a point. How could a "Sonic lover" not like 2D? Stupid. He must be some ignorant pre-teen. Like me, except I'm not ignorant! Anyway on the subject of this game, 3D Metal Slug would probably just be another First Person Shooter. Though M I see what you mean. They could make it good, with a lot of work.

The game could have the same gameplay it always has. Just the graphics will be 3D-ish.

They're making a 3D Metal Slug called Metal Slug Evolution but they have to see if it's going to work first before releasing it. I've got this preordered along with my Wii, can't wait. December 7th is the release here in New Zealand for the very reasonable price of $499.90 NZ dollars with Wii Sports! I'll probably get a couple more games though at launch.

You know, I honestly have never played a metal slug game, but I grew up playing mario and sonic and I've played 3D adaptations of both game franchises. Mario 64 was the best Mario game I've ever played, Sonic Adventure was fun but the rest of the Sonic 3D games suck. Basically my point is some games should stick with 2D because of how they're made. Look at metal slug, it's fast and frantic with explosions galore, now even though I've never played it I think it looks pretty awesome and I can't imagine it working out as well in a 3D environment. With moving from one side to the other and platform jumping- you just can't get that kind of speed and rush in a 3D world, you'd be falling all over the place and sick to your stomach from spinning around so much- it just wouldn't work. Some things are best left in their 2D glory. Now, what they could do is make a 3D side scroller, it's possible- and the graphics would be enhanced to make people happy, but the gameplay wouldn't change. I think it'd be neat, but hey I'm looking forward to trying this game out regardless of its graphics, it's all about what's fun.

Corny and cheesy!?! Dude it's metal slug, of course it's corny and cheesy that's why we love it! The finest cheese to go with my Wiine.

Avatar

Captain Jamesman said:

Yeah dood! It's the cheese that goes with my ritz crackers. It has good gameplay & it has weird characters. What more could you want from a 2-D Shooter?

Avatar

Captain Jamesman said:

If you want a different shooter game, then go play Pocky & Rocky.

Prinny said:

Maybe a bunch of exploding penguins dood?

Avatar

Captain Jamesman said:

That could work, but you'd have to get permission from Etna (Prinny's Master) first.

DarkVic said:

I seriously think they should bring Metal Slug into the 3-D world. That would be a game worth checking out! Just think of a free roaming, all out blasting Metal Slug game!

wiiman said:

They should make metal thug where you are a gangsta and can't die.

Best mario game - Yoshi's island. Still playing it. METAL SLUG RULEZ! No 3d crap and doodle. They've ruined 100s of great games in favour of 3D. Screw it. Gameplay Gameplay Gameplay.

I think I heard a rumor that SNK is in development for a 3-D Metal Slug Game. I forgot where I got the info.

Metal slug 3d wouldn't work but the anthology will rock. At least if they don't bring it out in the uk I can get a freeloader, yay rock on Wii!

They say that the controls are very hard but you can use the GC controller too but I don't have all the details.

Captain Jamesman said:

Forget what I said earlier, the rumor was just a hoax! But they do have a 3-D Metal Slug game in Japan. Thank you Wikipedia!

Avatar

Captain Jamesman said:

Wiiman, save that crap for GTA. A Metal Slug Gangsta style game would just ruin the series. Stick with the big guns and aliens!

This game is 2D but it could use a bunch of pros to make it 3D but I found them fun I hope this is more fun.
