Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars was released on DS around 8 months ago. In that time, sales figures have unfortunately been a disappointment. Speaking with MTV, Nintendo spokeswoman Cammie Dunaway commented:
"It's frustrating, quite frankly. Certainly there have been mature titles like Resident Evil, the first Call of Duty, that have sold over a million units. With something like GTA, there's great content there. We do think it'll have a long tail and we've seen that with a lot of titles across all genres on the DS platform that consumers continue to discover them. Part of what's needed is you have to continue to put marketing support behind these titles. It's one of the things we've learned over the past few years. The old dynamic of throw it on TV for a few weeks and forget it isn't going to work, because new consumers are coming in all the time".
Did you pick up Chinatown Wars? How come it didn't grab the public's imagination and cash?

Chinatown wars sold far less and far slower on psp, yet that never gets reported. The DS was called casual and kiddy for it yet the psp version super flopped. The DS version kept selling ok and still is, no one wanted it and it wasn't marketed well but to blame DS when the psp version flopped harder is insane, it also shows casual had nothing to do with it.

@wiiboy101 You've got to keep in mind though, ANYTHING on the PSP generally flops. It's not worth reporting it as a news. Heck, relatively speaking, GTA CW for PSP might have done better than the DS. I mean that as in it sold better than other psp titles than did the ds version against other ds titles. I guess handhelds in generation just aren't made for rated R games.

I'm just saying the casual kiddy anti-DS web bull was proven moronic, as it was psp fans saying it and yet the psp version did worse, so by psp fanboy logic psp must be casual and for kids after all. Ironic hey, rollseyes at sony fans.
