DSi sells out in Japan

According to market watchers Enterbrain, the DSi has sold out of its first batch in Japan. Nintendo supplied 200,000 units to retail on November the 1st, practically all of which have now been snapped up, leaving store shelves bare.

Big N plans to deliver another 100,000 DSi handhelds before the end of the week.

That's not a whole lot. I expected them to make more at launch.

Did it all sell out on the first day? Or just now?

Well Nintendo sure won't be worrying about the sales for their new hand held any time soon.

First they sell out Wii. Now they sell out DSi. At this moment, all Nintendo has to do is to release 2-4 first party games exclusive for DSi, sit back, relax for another year like they did with Wii, ds original, and ds lite.

That is pretty impressive seeing that the DSi is theoretically just a normal DS with upgraded capabilities. It would be like selling a Wii with a camera built in, a few extra software goodies, and cutting out Gamecube compatibility (here, GBA). Go Nintendo. I have a regular DS, Mario Kart Red. When I upgrade, this unit will be it.

Relax, monkeylemur they can't RELAX, if they do they'll be outsold. They haven't gotten this far relaxing for even a minute.

Why do it to make it seem like they're outselling everywhere (which they will be) because they send them out in little batches.
