Internet Channel set free

Internet Channel set free

Nintendo has made Wii's Internet Channel free once again for all to download.

As a gesture of good will, people who paid 500 Points for it can download a free Virtual Console game (from the NES range).

The channel, based on Opera, has also had an update which means it supports a newer version of Flash, which was a common complaint from users in the past.

Do you use your Wii to browse the interwebs?

YES! Oh my god. Sadly, I recently got an itouch so I no longer really need a Wii browser anymore.

It's good for watching YouTube. Many-a 'whos line is it anyway' has been viewed on my Wii.

Has anyone actually gotten the new Flash player to work? It's supposed to be on par with FP 8, but I don't see where it does anything. With the old Internet Channel I'd get messages from Flash content sites saying that my version of Flash wasn't new enough, but now just nothing happens. Blank boxes and no error messages. Do videos take 10 years to load, or does the player just simply not work?

I use it every day, even with 4 pcs in the house. I'm on Wii right now, new flash works on porn streams mmmmm.

Too bad I downloaded it when it was free. If I paid for it I wouldn't have had to go buy another Wii points card to get ghosts and goblins XD.

Yes almost all flash streams work now, those free to view streams on porn sites hardly ever played before but now almost all do. Ign videos and gametrailers also play, youtube seems better also, just to let you guys know.

Hmm. Are the flash streams supposed to be this edgy and slow?

This was one of the best decisions they've made recently.

So how will Nintendo know if I paid for it or not? I updated it, but darn it I want a free Nintendo game now. Somehow I just know I'll get screwed and not get those 500 pts.

Can someone tell me what the problem is? I went and tried to download a NES game, and I know I bought it because I got it with the first Wii points card I ever had, but it says I don't have enough points.

Your system has its own id numbers. Nintendo knows what goes where and how many points you have etc. If you have an issue phone Nintendo, they'll sort it.

I was about to scream bullcrap, but Nintendo made it fair by giving us back the 500 Wii points. Props.

I got my update incredibly early for some reason, oh well. Youtube won't play any videos for me, and instead it's called youtube xl, what's going on?

The period to download your complimentary nes game is at the end of October, if you read the note sent to your message board you'd know that.

I take my props back, you got to wait until the end of October. Wth. And if I have 400 points, can I buy a wiiware game?

Ok so I downloaded the free internet. First, it won't let me reply to anyone on myspace, second it won't play any videos on youtube or anything. Anyone know what's wrong?
