Some NERF cases for the DS Lite have been released and are now available from retailers like Gamestop. They're known as DS Armor, and come in a range of colors: Green, Orange, Blue, Black and Pink.
NERF Armor for DS Lite.
They add some bulk to your machine, but may be worth it if you're often gaming while out and about. Or if you just drop your DS a lot.

Looks stupid, but it probably works great. Especially for those people who put it in their backpacks (not a great idea).
Gary The Snail said:
They have obviously got their inspiration and design from a 2 year old McDonald's toy.
Zendalf said:
Actually that looks pretty cool.
Bentindo said:
It may be large and bulky, but it does give padded comfort to the DS.
DragonFoxCoon said:
Moms should think about this before giving their kids an expensive (and worth every dollar) piece of machinery.
Scooby Jew said:
I'd rather just get steel casing. More expensive, but more stylish and protective at the same time. Oh yeah, I forgot, I don't have a DS. Oops.
Elementrat said:
It completely defeats the purpose the DS "Lite".
DJames said:
If they made a green and black ds armour I'll buy it straight away!
Ekaj185 said:
Yeah, it looks like a kids toy.
Crimson Hawk said:
This looks pointless, it will make the DS Lite large and bulky (which completley defeats the purpose of the DS being, well "lite"!

It makes me want to gets another one! (I've eaten 12 of them and they don't taste any better than the 1st one).

These cases are fantastic! Bought my boys one each for their DS's while in the states, they get a lot of comments about them. Need to get another but can't get them in the UK.

A steel case will not protect the system much at all, just add an extra layer of metal. A soft material, like the foam in this case, will effectively cushion the device.

My ds falls a lot, I'll buy it straight away.

My son broke the right hinge on his DS Lite recently (it's basically gone now). Surprisingly, everything still worked fine but the lid would not stay up. Since the Nerf case has hinges, we bought one and his DS Lite is as good as new (at least in my eyes). In this case, it was absolutely worth the money.
Chloe said:
Hey I have one of those and the top broke off. I don't know how to fix it. If anyone does please post.
TruBlu said:
You never realize how sturdy the DS is until you drop it as often as I do. But some extra protection would be nice, just in CASE. Get it? Case? Ah, never mind.

Well I have one of these and it works great. DS rox my sox! You people are such grouches saying I don't like it and blah blah blah.
Aeth said:
Good idea, but it is a bit more bulky than needed. Also the design is pretty bland. Get rid of some millimeters the ridges which pop out and add in some "bolt"-like pattern on the ridge, would make it look a bit better in my opinion. Also add in a gray case for that "metal" look.

My little brother bit his DS because he stinks at Yoshi's Island. I'm not sure if you can protect it from that.

This cover is great! It is not bulky. One of our daughters is 3 and holds it easily. We have 3 ds's and they have all been dropped. Without these covers they would have broken. Thanks Nerf.

What about the dsi?
kruptah said:
This case is awesome. It has extended the life of my ds lite ten fold. My ds is broken on the right hinge. The top half is not connected there at all. This case keeps the top half firmly in place and I no longer have to worry of it separating. Thank you nerf armor.
pie said:
How do you get it off? Please tell me.
mrmcgoo said:
My hinge broke too, but the armor helped a lot.
Dave said:
Works like a charm, however the foam does peal away from the plastic shell but a bit of crazy glue fixed that. As for it making the system bigger, well it sure makes it nicer for playing.
Parvin said:
That's a terrible case.
Michele said:
Bought the nerf case for my son and it saved the system. Would definitely recommend it for kids.
Carrie said:
I highly recommend this. It saved my daughter's DS when I drove off with it on the hood of the car. At 45 mph, there was not a scratch on her DS.

Don't ever buy this. I had to break my ds to remove it.
