The recent update to Wii's Internet Channel caused some things to not work any more, for example the BBC's iPlayer service for people in Britain.
The BBC addressed this in an FAQ on their website:
The latest Nintendo Wii software upgrade has caused BBC iPlayer to cease working. Users that have not upgraded can continue to use the BBC iPlayer website.
We are currently investigating and hope to resolve these issues with the BBC iPlayer. Later this year we will be launching an all-new BBC iPlayer designed specifically for the Wii.

Wii's World is not officially affiliated with Nintendo! (but they wish we were).

It didn't even work for me the first time before updating! A Wii specific one will be good, and it will be good if it's this year.

It worked, now it doesn't, that's how it is for me. But I got on-demand recorded tv on my cable box including bbc iplayer. I also have pcs and laptops in the house. But I still want it updated so it works on Wii again.

The problem is at the BBC end, not with the update. Because of the way the BBC have coded the iPlayer, ANY flash update for the Internet channel would have stopped the iPlayer from working.
