Big plans for E3 2014

On Tuesday, April 29th, Nintendo released a video with the cast of mega64 that discussed their plans for E3, including a Super Smash Bros. Invitational, the Nintendo Treehouse, and the Super Smash Bros. Smash Fest.

The premise for the video was that the mega64 crew created "Reggie Fils-A-Mech" to invade Nintendo Headquarters and get all the juicy new games info ahead of E3.

The first thing the video mentioned was the invitational tournament for Super Smash Bros..

Watch live as 16 highly skilled Super Smash Bros. players take each other on in the first-ever Nintendo-sponsored Super Smash Bros. tournament. We'll share more information soon about the invited participants, the announcers, and how fans can view the tournament in person and via webcast.

Super Smash Bros. Invitational

This shows that Nintendo is going to get 16 of the worlds' best Smash players and pit them together in an official tournament. This tournament will take place in LA during E3 at the Nokia theater.

The fact that Nintendo is opening up their content for videos and streaming is a step in the right direction, as they have been getting a lot of negative press for putting a copyright claim on all videos including Nintendo games. Hopefully Nintendo will start opening up to YouTubers and Streamers more and more in the following months.

The next thing the video mentioned was the Super Smash Bros. Smash Fest at Best Buy.

Play the new Super Smash Bros. for Wii U game before it's released, only at Best Buy.

Smash Fest

During E3, Best Buys around the nation will be letting people play the new Super Smash Bros. This is pretty cool for people not going to E3 who want to play the new Smash. So if you want to get your hands on some of the new Smash, go to Best Buy during E3.

The Treehouse appears to be an actual place in which game experts will look at new games and live stream. It's like Nintendo's personal 24-hour reporter looking at all Nintendo has to offer. It should be interesting.

The final thing mentioned in the video is the Nintendo Virtual Event.

Game fans, this is the one you've been waiting for. Tune in to the Nintendo Digital Event at 9 a.m. PT for a look at what's in store for 2014 and beyond.

Nintendo Virtual Event

The Nintendo Digital Event is where it will be at. This is where all the news will be, and what is in store for Nintendo's long-term future. It should be interesting to say the least.

A news tidbit not mentioned in the video is that Nintendo will NOT be revealing new hardware at E3, even though many people say Nintendo has some hardware up its sleeve.

But we'll just have to wait.

And wait.

And wait, for six weeks.

Six whole weeks. Darn.
