Opera, the makers of Wii's web browser have been talking about its next version 2.0. It's set to feature a few things you might find useful, including a "tab cube" (seen above) which can hold up to 6 separate pages.
It's scheduled for release in December. Note that this is an update to the existing browser, if you already have it then it's free. Otherwise you will need to pay 500 Points.

Will we see an updated version of flash? That's all I care about. I want to be able to watch Fancast on TV.

Uuhhhhh! Didn't Dreamcast have a browser but like free? Then again it didn't have Opera, Opera is the browser I'm actually using right now to type this.

Step; You should have gotten the browser in July of '07! It was free then.

All I want is updated flash; it can't play half the games and videos I want to use. Buttons look too big by the way.

I got mine when it was a demo and so I never paid for it. I just hope I get the upgrade for free.

Nice, I got opera back when it was free and it's still free (for me at least).

Sweet, I personally think that the browser right now is pretty lame. I hope they make it a lot better.

Neither Nintendo nor Opera mention anything about and updated version of the Internet Channel for Wii on their websites. Furthermore, I have been unable to find a single verifiable source of this information, or any screen shot of the new browser other than the one above. So in other words this has FAKE written all over it.

Being able to watch netflix instant movies on the browser would be nice.

Ha ha I got while it was free, all my friends had to pay 500 Wii points, the only thing is that I wish the wii's browser could copy and paste but this is good enough.

You should be able to have custom homepages.

I feel like instant Netflix would be a possibility. If you've ever visited fancast. Com they offer instant TV shows and movies, much like Netflix would (except for free), that never lag or stop even if the connection speed is running slow. The current version of opera can't access fancast because of the older version of flash. New flash would= fancast, which should mean we COULD do Netflix, if Netflix and Microsoft would allow it. Go updated flash, please.

This is probably fake, though I really want an updated flash player. My real computer is too laggy for hulu.
