One of the directors at Ubisoft has revealed that Red Steel 2 will be using Nintendo's newest addon the MotionPlus. This should allow for much more realistic swordplay in the game.
"Red Steel 2 has been in development for many months now, and this new device will help us be even more precise in what we do with the product. The Red Steel brand is strong - I think we released it on year one, and that people understood it was a first try on new technology, technology that wasn't completely finished".
Ubisoft has been pleased with the level of sales generated by the original Red Steel game and hope to build it into a successful brand.

Sounds cool! I agree that rs1 was more a test to see how the system was going to reflect and to see how their game (which was good for a launch on a totally new and different system) would sell. On that note anyone who says rs1 is bad should just go play with speak and spell, maybe you'll actually learn something about the game industry.

*grasps hands and gets on his knees and looks at the heavens* Please may this mean that Red Steel 2 doesn't suck complete ass.

I'm for sure getting Red Steel 2. The original one was pretty fun, although I admit the motion sensing could have been better, but now hearing this the shooting system is bound to be much improved.

I think that is Ubisoft's way of saying they screwed up with red steel one. Like most games, good concept, bad execution.

Ubisoft requires a wii motionplus add-on to do what everyone else can do without it. I'm not interested in anything ubisoft, they're liars. Everything they put on Wii is low budget 3rd rate rubbish or overly casual.

I thought the red steel 1 sucked, huh. I guess it was because of the motion right? I guess they pretty much took care of that problem.

How can the Red Steel brand be strong when they only released 1 game? And no one liked it.

I think that the first red steel proved that there is a difference between a "good" game and a "fun" one. Hopefully, #2 will be both.

This game proves if Ubisoft really likes Wii. If it's good it's like Capcom, otherwise it's a faker like Valve. Red Suck was simply a test.

I know that the first game was a launch game and was really just a test of the wii's shooter capabilities, but it is still a great game. I hope they use the motion plus to give the game its full potential. And put in a swordfighting multiplayer!

Judging from the original, things can only get better.
