Publishers Reef have announced they'll be bringing an enhanced port of Rogue Trooper: The Quartz Zone Massacre onto the Wii, thanks to a deal with the game's developers Rebellion.
Rogue Trooper is a 3rd person shooter game, based on a UK comic book. Set in Nu Earth (it's the future), the main character is a genetically modified soldier seeking revenge on a traitor. Originally released on PC and consoles in 2006, it scored favorably with critics - averaging around 7/10 in reviews at the time.
Reef says the Wiimote will bring the control scheme to another level of accuracy, making this the definitive version of the game. The expected release window is Q4 2008.

This game is awesome. Your teammates get killed and Rogue puts their chip into his equipment. Meaning you will have a helmet, gun and back pack supporting you and giving advice.

It's all well and good hyping but ps2 or xbox port over graphics won't do. It wasn't the best looking game in 2006 so now it's very dated, re-make the game for Wii, not ps2 port it and tack on waggle. Those days should be in wii's past by now, remake yes, port no.

Wasn't it Rebellion that made Snood, and those icky Jaguar games like Checkered Flag?

Well, I don't remember the game, and I won't be interested until I hear whether they're updating the graphics, adding content, etc.
