An update on the official SSBB site reveals the first item, it's called a gooey bomb. It does exactly what it says on the tin, it's a bomb, sticky in nature and can be passed back and forth between characters before it decides to explode. Some screens were also provided.

The ssbb site won't be updated this weekend because on the site it clearly says on the top of the page that the site gets daily WEEKDAY updates. So that stinks. But then maybe that can mean that on Monday there will be a big or multiple updates on the site. Or it could mean he just wants a break for the weekend. But I hope there will be a good update on Monday (maybe a release date, huh?).

Oh, I think I know how to make the gooey bomb explode anytime you want, shoot it. In FPS games I always aim at the grenade the enemy is carrying and once I pull the trigger I see red fireworks! You guys should try it sometime.
