New challengers approach
Both Mega Man and the Street Fighter franchise are celebrating 25 years in the business. To mark the occasion, publishers Capcom are releasing a free downloadable game on PC called Street Fighter X Mega Man.
The game stars Mega Man in typically 8-bit platforming action, but instead of robot masters he has to face up to Street Fighter characters. Capcom had the following to say:
"Our fans have been so supportive of the 25th Anniversary efforts on Street Fighter, that we wanted to provide one last surprise and token of our appreciation. This game symbolizes the passion and dedication of our fans and with the 25th Anniversary of Mega Man coming up, we felt it was our duty to bring this wonderful experience to everyone who has shared the last 25 years with us and both of these celebrated franchises." - Christian Svensson
Hopefully this crossover will appease Mega Man fans much more than the recent Xover game for iOS. Street Fighter X Mega Man will be available for download from the Capcom Unity website on December 17th. Here's a trailer:
