UK cinema-goers are in for something a little different on this bank holiday weekend. Instead of the usual static on-screen adverts, Nintendo representatives will play a live game of Wii Sports tennis right there on the big screen.
A company called CommentUK produces these ads, Managing Director Dean McKain commented:
"The live, interactive ad superbly illustrates that Nintendo Wii Sports is for all ages and demonstrates just how exciting and easy it is to play. We expect to reach thousands of cinema goers over the next two weeks, we're sure that the word of mouth viral effect will have a positive impact for the brand".
The promotion will kick off in Picturehouse cinemas at showings of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End.

I just saw that like an hour ago. It was so amazing. Potc: 3, not the Wii ad. Keith Richards was awesome. When you go to see it, wait until the end of the credits, there is a little movie.

Nice. A lot of people are going to be watching that movie, and hopefully a large majority of them will show up early. I wonder how much money Nintendo is spending on this.

You know, when I first heard "Wii" and "Pirates of the Caribbean" my first thought was Jack Sparrow playing the Wii. Oh yeah, I watched the movie, it's great.

Wow. That'd be weird.

Oh my god, like they need more positive impact. Anyway, I saw pirates 3 twice already (just bragging).

I'd happily advertise the Wii in that manner if I could play on a movie theater sized screen.
