If you're seeing a blue glow on your Wii it could mean that system update version 4.1 is waiting for you to download.
The new firmware has reportedly been issued to patch up a bug found in Wii Sports Resort. Some other minor improvements to efficiency could be included as well.

Thea, check your message board. You may have old messages still displaying as "New". Could be a hardware issue as well.
