WG: Spyro used to be one of the best platformers around. His PS1 games made Mario 64 look like a piece of crap.... read more

Ripto's Rage was the best, I hope this one is good too.
xXAshleyXx said:
Wow that's totally cool, I wonder if it will be a new game or just a port?
Captain Jamesman said:
My favorite Spyro game is A Hero's Tail. My least favorites are the first 2 Spyro GBA games. Spyro is a very great character, even though Crash is better. I hope this game returns to the old fasioned Platforming of the old games. And I hope they give Spyro his old look back.

Spyro is getting smart to come on to Wii, the most sold system. Hope Kingdom Hearts 3 is next.
Crimson Hawk said:
Spyro gets another game. That isn't very surprising, a lot of people love Spyro; including me.
Franksy said:
Kerching I've got crash Bandicoot on GBA and spyro on ps2. Now they put them together on The Wii! Someone pinch me I'm dreaming.
Crimson Hawk said:
Ok then, *pinch*!

Argh I hated ripto's rage. I thought the original was the best of them all. But I am glad that this series; which I also love; is coming to the Wii.
Amy said:
So is this game coming out for sure?
Gc said:
I can't wait for it to come! Honestly, I loved all the spyros. But, my favourite spyro is year of the dragon and heros tail my 2nd favorite.
Lynsie said:
I liked the playstation spyros better. I have only played Spyro: Season of Ice as far as GBA and DS is concerned. I don't like spyro's new voice. He's too Mr Do-right, ya know? Like before he was sarcastic and Sparx was cute but now it's all weird. Plus the older dragons are too japanese. Sigh. Ok, I'm done ranting.
Captain Jamesman said:
Darn it! It looks the same as The Legend of Spyro. I just hope it's not another brawler like the last game.
Zendalf said:
I never did really like the spyro games that much.
Ablex said:
The first three Spyro games on PS1 were the best. I played Enter The Dragonfly for the GC, but it was terrible.
wiiboy101 said:
The spyro games on ps1 were unplayable, the d-pad was clunky and the analog mode was fake. It was like res evil with 2d d-pad and prerendered backdrops. I soon went back to mario on n64 with its polished analog.
Quartz said:
Spyro used to be so awesome.
Orez said:
The first 3 console ones were the best because Insomniac made them, but now venvedei is. I don't like his newer looks, he looks babyish, that's why people criticize the spyro games because he looks, well kiddish now.
Choochoo said:
Wow. Did you see the gba version? How did they get the graphics to look so good? That's crazy.

Ripto's Rage was probably the best overall, but A New Beginning is by far the most interesting to date. The only thing that REALLY disappointed me was how short it was. I beat it in about 15-20 hours of playing. The others, like Ripto's Rage, was an average 30-40 hour game if you were good. Even Zelda takes 40 hours for the experienced players. Not to put Zelda down, but I am a hardcore Spyro fan and want to see the best come out of this series. Make Eternal Night longer than New Beginning! Make the enemies less predictable. Change em up throughout the game, I got tired of the monkeys.
Sonic Phantom said:
To be honest, Spyro games are too easy and short. I played Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly for Gamecube and I beat it in two days. But the only thing that ticked me off was the very last boss.
Keyarah said:
The originals were amazing. Spyro went down the drain when Insomniac stopped making them. The most recent one, a new beginning was terrible. Four worlds. Four! The game was done in 5 hours at the most. A complete waste of money. I want an old school Spyro with lots of worlds and fun challenges.
Spyro said:
Hey children, stop dissing me! I only accepted the contract for eternal night because all you whiners said you missed me. Just buy my next game and if you beat the Big Boss called Porky at the end within 40 hours you get your money back.
Laura said:
Please make it longer and more challenging than A New Beginning. Can't wait to have a new adventure to start. GO SPYRO.
Spyro luvr said:
Oh my god! Isn't spyro so cute?
Andrew said:
I get my money back if I win within 40 hours? It's a deal. I didn't like the first few spyro games with portals and eggs. They were annoying. The New Beginning and Eternal Night are more modern with going through the game and fighting.
Tonio said:
Yea, I'm big on the spyro franchise. Rypto's rage was definitely the best. I really liked the concept of New Beginning but it was WAY TOO SHORT! I beat it overnight. I think it took me like 8hrs and that's because I took a nap in the middle. And seriously, monkeys? Bring back Insomniac! Ok I'm done.
sydnie said:
I realy liked A New Begginnng, I thought that the old spyros were fun exept for Enter the Dragonfly, that was horrible! I hope that this new one will be just as good as A New Beginning.
I LOVE SPYRO said:
A New Beginning has to be my favorite. My only criticism is that it's too short and the enemies are all the same. But all in all- great story, great characters.
ah a dragon said:
The last spyro game (I forget who did it) was a complete and utter disaster. The whole thing was movies and no playing! I still think the PS1 games were the best to play. We'll see how this one turns out.
Cookie88 said:
I haven't played new beginning but I agree, Enter the Dragonfly was awful and the graphics made me feel ill! Hope this won't be a let down. Gateway to Glimmer! Yay.
Spyrothe purple said:
I think that eternal night sounds nice and look at all spyro's powers, he can breathe anything and now he can slow down time!? That's great but in A new beginning, just too many baboons. I hope they use some new goons like uh, line rental - yeah line rental! No in fact the goons should be spiders maybe?
hey sup said:
I used to be a huge fan of Spyro games. Enter the Dragonfly killed the series for me; I haven't played a Spyro game since. I hadn't been paying any attention to critics' receptions of the game either. It's nice to see the more recent games being presented as more praiseworthy. I think I'll look into playing this one. I want to get used to playing Wii games again before this Christmas season anyway.

The old Spyro games for the Playstation were cool but the other ones were not good. I hope this one's good because I just got my Wii.
Mamamimi said:
It's funny that in such a capitalistic country as ours, that Insomniac didn't get the big picture and make more of the original Spyro type games. Legend of Spyro is a deep disappointment to real die-hard fans and this new Eternal night continues the disappointment. This is from a 58 year old grandma who LOVES Spyro.
JORDANW said:
I really really want to play eternal night because he can breath anything he wants. Cool.

I got the new spyro game and it's awesome! It has cool graphics, cool combos and other stuff. But I'm on this boss called ravage rider and I can't beat him. Can someone help me please? I make it so close to the end and then he burns me and I die.
cobber3 said:
It's 2007 and I've been playing all the ps1 spyros, so it's good to have a game for Wii. Can't wait to play it.
Dark Goomba said:
Spyro was the first game I ever played, cool on the Wii!

I am trying to get Spyro Eternal Night on Wii at big W, but I can't find it. I think I'm crazy about him since I got my first game "Spyro :Attack of the Rhynocs".
Albino Jedi said:
I wonder why Spyro looks all weird? I have Spyro: Enter The Dragonfly, and Spyro looks way different in this one. It makes me disappointed.
spyro flyro said:
I agree in spyro enter the dragonfly he looks really cool and decent. I'm not sure whether to get this game or not because previous spyros are good and bad.
piouyto said:
I'm stuck on the ravage rider, can anyone help me?
jordan game master said:
What you've got to do is this: get in the middle brown circle and when a hole opens up in his side, you know he's going to fire either a cannon ball or fire. Then use dragon time to dodge either one. Repeat until he smashes into the wall, then turn to dragon time and smash him. P.S New beginning and eternal night are both 5 star.
Spyro Fan said:
I love the Spyro reboot. Better storyline, better design, Spyro and Sparx's new attitude, fighting style makes it more challenging, and breath powers. Makes me wish Spyro was in Super Smash Bros Brawl.
spyro king said:
Rypto's rage was by far the best. Ever since that company that starts with a "V" came it messed the whole franchise up I don't know how many times they are going to make these bad games but it has to stop. The only reason why I like spyro is because of its music and its characters. Well sure rypto's rage changed it up a little bit but it overall stayed the same captivating spyro.
WG said:
The game is awful. Storyline rocks, but the graphics are average, the music is forgettable, and the fighting mechanics are so flawed it's not even funny. The few platforming elements are nothing anyone hasn't played before. And this is coming from a pretty big Spyro fan.
BJ said:
This game is awesome but I liked A New Beginning better.
nick said:
Old spyros were better, these just suck. They're not challenging, all you do is fight monkeys and it's not as interesting.
dominic said:
How many players can play on eternal night on Wii?
HC said:
Check out the newest spyro, dawn of the dragon. It has co-op play in adventure mode and you can change by the way 1 and 2 players whenever you want. Dawn of the dragon reminds me the most of the old spyro out of all of these. It just has more fighting, but this time it's good.
Emma said:
Why don't they make the games like they used too? The first 3 ones with different worlds and collectibles like the gems and dragons and stuff were amazing, but the new ones are just fighting and there's nothing to collect. Bring back the old Spyro!
